Medicare-A Celebration?

A party was held on the Hill-a few members of the House of Representatives joined to celebrate the 47th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid-eating cake and singing. "Let them eat cake".... Isn't that what Marie Antoinette said while her people were starving?

Our leaders are out of touch with the impending Medicare financial avalanche, they rival the leaders in France long ago. Most don't see the system collapsing, even as the last bite of frosting passes their lips.

Will we see our first pediatrician elected to Congress in 2012? If Dr. Marisha Agana has her way, the answer is “Yes” and she will be the one representing the constituency of Ohio’s District 13. Read more about Dr. Agana on the cover of June’s issue of “Pediatric News.”

Dr. Agana earned double majors in Business Economics and Bachelor of Arts in Preparatory Medicine from the University of the Philippines.  She completed a doctorate degree in Medicine from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center.  She moved to the United States and earned her citizenship legally.  She finished her pediatric residency at the Rush Children's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.  Following, she went on to finish sub-specialty training in General Academic Pediatrics from the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh where she also pursued a master in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Agana moved to Ohio where she is currently a pediatrician and solo practitioner. Dr. Agana is running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for Ohio's 13th district.
